Vicarious VR was a 360° social media platform that allowed users to create and share immersive stories through a mobile app or VR headset. The product prioritized fast creation, supported free music libraries, and had full feature compatibility (creation and consumption) in both 2d and in-VR modes.

As co-founder and head of product, I was in charge of all product related tasks, including product design, strategy and roadmap, team management, as well as pitching investors. My goal with Vicarious was to use emerging 360° and VR tech to revolutionize the way people connect. Vicarious, a platform for 360° social media stories, let users live each others' experiences from any angle, as a regular mobile app or in a VR headset.
Vicarious was targeted the need for an accessible immersive media social platform for regular users

Speed to creation was a critical goal, balancing complexity of features with ease-of-use and optimizing for in situ creation and posting.

Users could drop their phone into a Daydream or Cardboard viewer to immerse themselves in both content creation and consumption.
To seed content and build a community of creators we had a paid influencer cohort, campus ambassador program, and multiple giveaways.
